Dr. Michael J. Collins has awarded Stevens Construction Inc. the contract to build the 10,440-square-foot Collins Vision Center, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

Located at 6900 International Blvd., the medical office building will feature eight exam rooms, a procedure room, two orbital scan rooms, lobby, reception area, staff lounge, an eyewear retail area and administrative offices. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2010 and is slated for completion in late 2010.

Christopher Lee Architects, Inc. is providing the design services.

Scheduled to begin in the spring, construction of the activity center will include the remodel and addition of 6,920 square feet to total a 13,377-square-foot, two-story building upon completion.

Located at 4118 Coronado Parkway, the enhanced children’s ministry will include a preschool, multipurpose room, classrooms, kitchen and associated services.

Stevens Construction Inc. has started construction on the Gorovoy Cornea Laser Center in Fort Myers, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

Located at 12453 South Cleveland Ave., the facility will include the addition of a 4,600-square-foot ambulatory surgery center to an existing two-story facility. When complete, the center will encompass 10,580 square feet and include two operating rooms, recovery rooms, step-down recovery rooms, consultation areas, a patient lounge and administrative offices.

Scheduled for completion in fall of 2010, Gorovoy Cornea Laser Center will be an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) licensed facility, which ensures regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities throughout Florida.

The project was designed by Christopher Lee of Christopher J. Lee Architects Inc.

Stevens Construction Inc. has completed the interior renovation at the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, announced Mark Stevens, company president.
 
Located at 6748 Gall Blvd., the project consisted of the interior demolition and reconstruction of a 10,200-square-foot medical office building.  The facility houses the new office of the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, equipped with exam rooms, two X-Ray rooms, casting room and administrative offices.
 
Christopher Cooke of Stevens Construction was the project manager and Mike Bussiere was the superintendent. Lyn Pollock of Burt Hill/Pollock Kreig Architects, Inc. provided the design.

J.P. Pencil, superintendent for Stevens Construction, was presented with the Hearts and Hammers award at the 2009 Lee BIA installation banquet, announced Mark Stevens, company president. 

The Hearts and Hammers award honors individuals who display exemplary performance and commitment in a Builders Care project. Builders Care, the non-profit arm of the Lee BIA provides emergency construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged Lee County residents. 

Pencil led a team of volunteers and subcontractors during the Mary Lou Tanksley renovation in one of the largest Builders Care projects to date. In a two-week period, the construction team with Pencil’s direction, demolished the fire-damaged residence and rebuilt the home with air conditioning, electricity and handicap accessibility, things the residence didn’t have prior to the renovation.

“JP finished two month’s worth of work in just two weeks. He spent countless hours to make sure the job was done right and led a team of subcontractors to success. He put the needs of this family before his own, he showed his unwavering commitment to others and he represented the best that the building industry has to offer,” said Heidi Taulman, executive director for Builders Care.

Located at 3710 Lake Center Drive, the 11,052-square-foot facility features three operating rooms, a minor procedure room, pre-operation beds, post-operation beds and associate support service areas.

“We are delighted with our experience with Stevens Construction and the Surgery Center; the facility is gorgeous and all of the patients have been so pleased,” said Joyce Deno, chief operating officer, eastern region, Regent Surgical Health.
