Denny Grimes to analyze local impact of distressed properties
One of the first realtors in Southwest Florida to earn the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation by the Distressed Property Institute, Denny Grimes will use this expertise to share insight into how distressed properties are influencing the local residential real estate market in his presentation at The News-Press 2010 Market Watch scheduled for Feb. 25. This important issue is one of the most pressing facing the local residential real estate market.
“I look forward to helping distressed homeowners and engaging in solutions to the foreclosure crisis,” says Grimes. “After studying this issue in depth, I look forward to providing a clearer picture of the market and how distressed properties are affecting the local economy in my presentation at Market Watch.”
In order to achieve the CDPE designation, Grimes completed the institute’s comprehensive course of curriculum for handling distressed properties including short sales, deeds-in-lieu, mortgage modifications, forbearance, refinances, reinstatements and foreclosures. The institute reports approximately 16,200 real estate professionals have the designation nationally.
According to the Distressed Property Institute, which provides the training necessary to achieve this designation, CDPE’s are real estate professionals with specific understanding of the complex issues confronting the real estate industry and the foreclosure avoidance options available to homeowners.
Grimes, who also holds the GRI, CSP, CRS and ABR real estate designations, has been a real estate professional in Southwest Florida for more than 25 years and is the owner of the Denny Grimes & Company full-service real estate firm in Fort Myers, Fla. He is also a certified general contractor with an MBA in marketing. This industry expert is frequently tapped by the media and the industry alike to report on market trends. As a featured speaker at events such as The News-Press 2010 Market Watch, Grimes collects hard data and combines it with his daily “boots on the ground” interactions with buyers and sellers to accurately analyze Southwest Florida’s highly competitive marketplace.
The News-Press Market Watch will take place Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Harborside Event Center in the Fort Myers River District. It will begin with networking at 4 p.m., followed by the presentations from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Grimes will present on residential real estate, joining commercial real estate presenter Stan Stouder, a founding partner with CB Richard Ellis Fort Myers-Naples.
