PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar on Fort Myers Beach recently donated $1,000 to benefit the community production of the annual Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July firework celebration.

The Fort Myers Beach community is working hard to raise $25,000 to fund the annual production of the Fort Myers Beach Fourth of July firework display, and their goal is within reach. The charge is led by the FMB Fireworks Fund, a committee of business owners and residents on Fort Myers Beach who have stepped forward to assist in offsetting the expenses for the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve fireworks shows on Fort Myers Beach.

PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar has supported the community’s fundraising efforts throughout the year by hosting several fundraisers and offering fundraising drink specials to benefit the annual firework production.

“The biannual firework displays are a special tradition that the Fort Myers Beach community enjoys on the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve,” said Martin York, managing partner of PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar. “We are happy to take part in supporting this community effort, and we encourage others to join the cause to help keep this firework show alive on Fort Myers Beach.”

Miracle set to open the season with fireworks show!

Let’s play ball! The Fort Myers Miracle begin the 2016 season on Thursday, April 7 followed by Opening Friday Fireworks on Friday, April 8 at Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex.

The Bradenton Marauders are in town for a quick two-game homestand. The Miracle start the season on Thursday, April 7 at 7:05 p.m. The first Thirsty Thursday on the 2016 calendar features half priced domestic draft beers through the seventh inning. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a pair of Miracle sunglasses courtesy of Snead Eye Group.

On Friday, April 8, the Miracle celebrate the start of the 2016 season with a spectacular postgame fireworks show after a 7:05 p.m. game with the Bradenton Marauders. The Miracle have partnered with local Wendy’s restaurants and MetroPCS locations to provide complimentary general admission tickets for Friday. Fans can visit Wendy’s and MetroPCS locations in Lee and Collier Counties beginning on Thursday, March 31 to pick up free tickets.

Beginning on Monday, April 4 at 9 a.m., fans can bring their complimentary general admission tickets to the Hammond Stadium box office to upgrade to a box seat for just $2. The first 5,000 fans through the gates on Friday will receive a Miracle magnet schedule courtesy of the Florida Forest Service. After the final out is made, the Miracle will light up the sky with a pyrotechnic display.

Inside the gates, fans can partake in a Fill’er Up Friday presented by Budweiser. For a $14 price, you get a wristband good for All You Can Eat hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade potato chips, peanuts, water and lemonade for two hours from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The All You Can Eat wristband also gets you $2 domestic draft beers from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Pure Florida to offer New Year’s Eve cruises Dec. 31

Pure Florida will ring in the New Year with celebratory cruises on Dec. 31, sailing from its Naples location from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Fort Myers location from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Guests cruising from Naples will have the opportunity to indulge in appetizers and drinks while watching the fireworks show, aPhoto 2 (1)nd passengers in Fort Myers can enjoy a cruise at sunset with a complimentary drink. Matanzas on the Bay on Fort Myers Beach will ring in the New Year by offering guests two great evenings of delicious food specials and live music. Matanzas on the Bay will feature a special New Year’s Eve appearance from Father Al and the Jazz Congregation on Thursday Dec. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. and a performance from Wendell Ray on Friday, Jan. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The two evenings of live musical performances will be accompanied by a selection of dinner specials for guests to enjoy. The menu will include the Local Grouper Oscar, an eight-ounce filet char broiled with lump crab, sun-dried tomato, asparagus and hollandaise for $29, and the Prime Rib, a 12-ounce cut of slow roasted choice Angus beef with au jus and horseradish cream for $25.

PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar on Fort Myers Beach has raised more than $2,400 to benefit the community production of the annual Fort Myers Beach New Year’s Eve firework celebration.

With an annual fireworks display costing approximately $20,000 for the fireworks production alone, the Fort Myers Beach community has come together to assist the Town of Fort Myers Beach in raising the necessary funds that will keep the annual firework production alive for Southwest Florida. PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar commenced its fundraising efforts in May, and has since hosted several fundraisers throughout the year, including “Fling a Flounder for Fireworks” and Firework Fridays, along with fundraising drink specials.
