Bacchus introduces prix fixe menu
Bacchus has launched a new prix fixe menu at the Bell Tower Shops restaurant to provide customers a fine-dining experience with a fixed price and customized menu options. The prix fixe menu features three courses for $35 per person. For an additional $10, diners can upgrade to a wine dinner, which includes three glasses of wine expertly paired with each course.
“This menu is designed to give diners the ultimate culinary experience at a great price,” says Bacchus executive chef Heath Higginbotham. “Diners will know exactly what the cost of their meal will be in advance and then can enjoy a full gourmet meal with their choice of popular dishes for each course from our pre-set menu.”
For the appetizer course on the prix fixe menu, diners are offered a choice of krazy spring rolls, oriental spaghetti or shrimp and chorizo. The main course options are Bacchus steak, yellow tail snapper or Spanish chicken and rice. For dessert, Bacchus offers crème brulee, bananas foster or volcano cake.

Bacchus introduces guest chef wine dinners
Continuing to provide an array of culinary options for its guests, Bacchus is inviting prominent Southwest Florida chefs to the restaurant on select evenings to prepare custom menus. The first guest chef wine dinner will be presented by Chef Kris Zook on Jan. 11 from 6-10 p.m. This event will launch a series of guest chef wine dinners designed to expose Bacchus guests to a broad range of Southwest Florida’s culinary professionals, complimenting the offerings of the Bacchus chefs.
“We are passionate about bringing fresh culinary options to our diners,” says Bacchus Executive Chef Heath Higginbotham. “January is the perfect time to consider new food and wine options, and we are thrilled with the lineup of guest chefs that has been secured for the coming months.”
The first guest chef, Zook, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York and has worked for several of Lee County’s most prestigious restaurants. He currently serves as executive chef at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grill Restaurant Company on Sanibel Island. Zook’s menu for the evening is priced at $60 and includes a salad course, two entrées and dessert. Each of the four courses features an expertly paired wine. For reservations, call 239-437-8676.
The meal begins with lump crab, tear drop tomatoes, toasted macadamia nuts, cucumbers and feta cheese on arugula and mixed greens. Drizzled in a creamy lemon and garlic vinaigrette, the salad will be paired with a 2008 Clay House Adobe White. For the second course, guests will enjoy duck and wild mushroom strudel, organic sprout salad and champagne white truffle beurre blanc, paired with a 2008 Fat Cat Pinot Noir. The third course offers roasted tenderloin of beef, herbs de provence, a winter root vegetable and fingerling potato ragout in a zinfandel wine reduction. The beef will be paired with 2006 Ramsey Cabernet. The four-course dinner concludes with raspberry, white chocolate bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. The wine pairing for dessert is 2009 Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz.

Bacchus hosts New Year’s Eve dinner and party
The gourmet restaurant Bacchus, located in Bell Tower Shops, is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner and party starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31. For $75 per person, guests will choose three courses and dessert from the restaurant’s special New Year’s Eve menu and participate in a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Reservations are required.
The special four-course New Year’s Eve menu features a variety of options. The first course features four appetizers to choose from: jumbo sea scallop en croute with arugula oil and heirloom tomato tartar; baked brie with toasted almonds, homemade strawberry preserve, balsamic reduction and crackers; The Original Roll, consisting of sushi “krab,” cream cheese, scallions and sriracha mayo; and Kobe sliders topped with caramelized leaks, seared foie gras and truffle mayo.
The second course includes a choice of corn bread panzanella with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, fresh basil, Fontina cheese and lemon vinaigrette or Bacchus salad, which is mixed greens, cantilena beans, red onions, olives and balsamic vinaigrette.
Guests will choose from four entrées for the third course: Chilean sea bass “thermidor” with wilted greens, baby carrots and crab thermidor sauce; open-faced beef Wellington featuring a puff pastry, mushroom duxelle, truffle Yukon gold mousseline and béarnaise; stuffed chicken breast with spinach and goat cheese, steamed jumbo asparagus, cranberry wild rice pilaf and a natural jus; and pan-roasted duck breast with baby bok choy, butternut squash and Asian pear ragout and pomegranate beurre blanc.
For dessert, Bacchus will serve “Double Trouble,” white chocolate crème brule and wild berries foster a la mode.

Bacchus will host a four-course South African wine dinner on Dec. 10 from 6-10 p.m. featuring a variety of wines from Cape Classics, the largest importer of South African wines to the United States. Heath Higginbotham, executive chef at Bacchus, will pair three specially crafted courses with some of his favorite South African vintages. Priced at $65 per person, the dinner includes a salad/appetizer course, two entrées and dessert.
