The District is currently hiring for the 2016-2017 school year, and representatives from the District will be at the career fair on Wednesday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW), located at 8099 College Parkway in Fort Myers. The fair will be open to FSW students from 10 a.m. to noon, and will open to the public from noon to 2 p.m.

The School District of Lee County is hosting its 2016 Spring Teacher Recruitment Fair for future District employees on Thursday, April 28 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers. Those interested in receiving an invitation to the fair can register on the School District of Lee County website at www.leeschools.net/teacher-recruitment-fair to the “Teacher Recruitment Fair for Future Employees” vacancy, using Job ID 20160420. Registration must be completed by April 15. All eligible candidates will receive an email invitation to attend the event by April 19, and must RSVP by April 25.

The School District of Lee County will host a separate event for current District employees on Thursday, April 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. Current District employees interested in applying for new teaching positions are asked to log on to their private PeopleSoft account on the School District of Lee County website and select the “Teacher Recruitment Fair for Current Employees” vacancy, using Job ID 20160419.

Discovery Senior Living began its expansion of Discovery Village At The Forum with a groundbreaking ceremony on Jan. 21 for its new, state-of-the-art independent-living community.

Mike Brooks joins Stevens Construction Inc.

Mike Brooks has joined Stevens Construction as project manager, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

GMA Architects & Planners welcomes two new hires

GMA Architects & Planners (GMA) has recently hired architect Charles Dickey as project architect and Christopher Moulton as an intern architect.

Dickey has been practicing architecture for over 30 years with firms in Washington DC, Charlottesville, Virginia, and Tallahassee, Florida, serving in a variety of roles including design, production, project management and administration.

Since earning his Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida and his Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech, Dickey has gained experience in a broad spectrum of project types including mixed use, commercial, residential, ecclesial, historic preservation and renovation.Charles Dickey

Dickey has earned recognition from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for such projects as The Midway Florida Volunteer Fire Department, The Brody Jewish Student Center at the University of Virginia and The Crossings at Fourth and Preston, a sixty-unit single room occupancy (SRO) for formerly homeless individuals located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

University of Miami graduate, Moulton has joined GMA as an intern architect. Moulton began working in the industry in 2011 after receiving his degree in Architecture with a minor in Urban Studies.  A Maryland native, Moulton lived a year and a half in Baltimore, spending time with TerraLogos Eco Architecture, PC, before relocating to Fort Myers. He has also spent time as a remote drafter for MGA Architecture of Honolulu, Hawaii and PDS Architecture of Fort Myers before finding a place with the GMA family.

Moulton has been involvedChris Moulton in a number of projects including public and private work in Southwest Florida, Virginia, Hawaii, Washington DC, and Maryland.  He has collaborated on several neighborhood revitalization projects in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, multiple locations for the Sports Zone clothing and athletic apparel store, and Alfredo’s Restaurant in Fort Myers.
